Boynton Beach has the good fortune of being the city on the Atlantic coast that is closest to the bountiful Gulf Stream: A fisherman's paradise! One can be deep-sea fishing just a short boat ride from the Boynton Inlet. Five miles of coral reef offshore with 60-foot visibility await the deep-sea diving enthusiast. The new downtown area will offer a yachting marina, outdoor performance square and exhibit of kinetic art sculptures. Promenade Park, a natural preserve, will provide scenic walking and jogging trails bordering the ICW and Pedestrian Promenade, and interconnecting walkway, and will link the city's 40-acre Mangrove Nature Walk and RiverWalk with the marina and performance square.

Boynton Beach's Oceanfront Park was rated best overall beach in Palm Beach County in 2001. Boynton's Intracoastal 10-acre Park is one of the newest in Palm Beach County. Gracing the entrance to the park is a Veteran’s Memorial with a grassed plaza and sitting wall overlooking a sparkling lake with a lighted floating fountain.
