The new downtown area will offer a yachting marina, outdoor performance square and exhibit of kinetic art sculptures. Promenade Park, a natural preserve, will provide scenic walking and jogging trails bordering the ICW and Pedestrian Promenade, and interconnecting walkway, and will link the city's 40-acre Mangrove Nature Walk and RiverWalk with the marina and performance square.

The City of Boynton Beach has dropped all its eminent-domain proceedings on key properties needed to complete the original vision of plans to redevelop the heart of Boynton, and is turning to developers to complete the project to avoid going to court over issues. July 26th is the deadline for developers to offer proposals and they must acquire lots in the project’s first phase that the city and the Community Redevelopment Agency couldn’t secure, which includes 12 properties, out of 30 parcels along Seacrest and Martin King Boulevards.

The area is home to longtime residents and rundown buildings, businesses, vacant lots and churches. Residents demands include that relocation costs be covered and residents guaranteed a chance to return; that the area not be overrun by high-rise buildings and expensive retailers.; June 25, 2006

Boynton Beach's Oceanfront Park was rated best overall beach in Palm Beach County in 2001. Boynton's Intracoastal 10-acre Park is one of the newest in Palm Beach County. Gracing the entrance to the park is a Veteran’s Memorial with a grassed plaza and sitting wall overlooking a sparkling lake with a lighted floating fountain. Catch sight of many facets of nature in and around the park including at the southeast corner where existing mangrove and coastal planting areas have been preserved.

Boynton Beach is located just a few miles from the bountiful Atlantic Gulf Stream and is serviced by two local marinas. With Lake Osborne to the north, Lake Ida to the south and countless canals criss-crossing in between, Boynton Beach is a freshwater angler's paradise! Water is not your thing? Golf courses abound, ranging from private to semi-private to public. Many new, large gated communities are sprouting up on the landscape. The concerns of the city of Boynton Beach span all ages. There is presently a brand-new $37.8 million high school under construction that will accommodate 2,500 students. There is a special emphasis on health care services for the elderly.

Classes are held at the Boynton Beach Art Center, and the Civic Center features the Gold Coast Chorale and Community Band. Visit the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge. JFK Medical Center services the community, and is growing in leaps and bounds.
