COUNTY TO WIDEN HYPOLUXO ROAD

$3.6MM has been awarded by County Commissioners to a contractor to widen Hypoluxo Road from four to six lands between Jog Road and Military Trail, with a proviso that it be done in no more than 270 calendar days.

Gracing the entrance to the park is a Veteran’s Memorial with a grassed plaza and sitting wall overlooking a sparkling lake with a lighted floating fountain. Catch sight of many facets of nature in and around the park including at the southeast corner where existing mangrove and coastal planting areas have been preserved.

Boynton Beach is located just a few miles from the bountiful Atlantic Gulf Stream and is serviced by two local marinas. With Lake Osborne to the north, Lake Ida to the south and countless canals criss-crossing in between, Boynton Beach is a freshwater angler's paradise! Find some shade to sit under, cast out the worm and it won't be long before you'll see that plastic float slip under the water!

Water is not your thing? Golf courses abound, ranging from private to semi-private to public. There are many parks with oceanfront and intracoastal beaches that feature swimming, picnic areas, barbeques, water skiing, jetty, marina with boat slips, children's play areas, ball fields, jogging trails, racquetball, tennis, volleyball, bocce, and horseshoes.

Many new, large gated communities are sprouting up on the landscape. The concerns of the city of Boynton Beach span all ages. There is presently a brand-new $37.8 million high school under construction that will accommodate 2,500 students. There is a special emphasis on health care services for the elderly.

Classes are held at the Boynton Beach Art Center, and the Civic Center features the Gold Coast Chorale and Community Band. Visit the Arthur R. Marshall Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge. JFK Medical Center services the community, and is growing in leaps and bounds.

The Montreal Expos and The Atlanta Braves can be seen playing baseball at their Spring Training Camps in the area. You can watch The Miami Heat and The West Palm Beach Beachdogs play basketball, or The Florida Panthers and the West Palm Beach Barracudas play hockey.
